Summer at Baldy Mountain Resort

 In Summer

Dear Baldy enthusiasts,

As June hits the Okanagan Valley, could you believe we had trace amounts of snow on the top of Baldy June 1st?! We hope Ullr is sending us a strong message for the 2018-19 winter season.

With all the flooding in the area, you will be glad to hear that nearly all the snow has left Baldy. There are only a few small stashes left, so there will be little to no melt coming from up here now. We took the side by side up the mountain at the end of May and the Baldy trail still has a few patches of snow, meaning access to the top is not quite open yet but, in a week or two the flowers will start to come out turning Baldy into this stunning, quiet, magical summer location.

By the way: yes, I said side by side. The one that got stolen last summer turned up on the roadside near Oliver a few weeks ago in great condition. A huge shout out to Matt Koenig who never gave up hope on this and kept the pressure on the Oliver area by asking questions and following leads… Thanks, Matt!

The team at Baldy is getting close to gearing up for the coming winter, yes you heard right, we’re already looking ahead to next winter! You would be surprised at the work and preparation needed to ensure we offer a great season for you winter enthusiasts. Lift maintenance will start early to mid-summer, and we will begin brush cutting as well. We love summer on Baldy and in the Okanagan, but we still can’t wait for winter to come and powder to fly.

I am going to wrap up by mentioning our early bird season pass sale, which went live recently, and our great prices, which are only available to the first 800 people- or until July 15th-  whichever comes first.
